Honey Gauze Dressing Honey gauze dressing is a permeable non-adherent primary dressing containing active manuka honey. The dressing is impregnated with 100% manuka honey from New Zealand with no additives. The dressing can protect the wound, and its properties enable the honey to form a gel with the wound fluid, effectively form and maintain a moist environment for the wound, and provide a suitable environment for wound healing.Manuka honey contains glucose oxidase imparted by the bees during its collection and storage. The enzyme facilitates low level release of hydrogen peroxide when in the presence of wound exudates and thus supports cellular proliferation and metabolism through an antioxidant effect. The high sugar and low pH content creates a high osmotic potential which gives honey excellent debridement and anti-inflammatory properties.Honey gauze dressing is a disposable sterile product, which is consisted of the manuka honey impregnated into an acetate gauze. It covers and protects the wound, provide and maintain a moist wound healing environment, because manuka honey contains unique UMF antibacterial ingredients, it can also be effective in treating infected wounds, which can relieve the symptoms of infection.
Performance:1. High sugar levels (87%) in the dressing will produce osmotic pressure that help promote autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue, a moist wound healing environment, and helps rapidly reduce wound odor.2. Manuka honey gauze dressing helps maintain a moist wound healing environment while permitting the passage of exudate into a secondary dressing.3. Indicated for use on wounds with any drainage level.

Instructions for use:1. Clean the wound with normal saline before use.2. Open the pouch and remove the dressing. Peel away the gently apply the dressing to the wound surface.3. Cover with an absorbent dressing and secure with an appropriate dressing retention material.4. The dressing should be changed daily in heavily exudative wounds, reduced to every 3 days as the healing process proceeds. Otherwise to be changed asclinically directed. The dressing should also be removed if the dressing has completely dried.5. Remove the dressing using tweezers or a gloved hand. Remove the dressing from the skin slowly and gently. The dressing may adhere if used on a dry wound. In this case removal of the dressing can be helped by soaking the wound with sterile saline.

Store at room temperature. Due to the nature of honey, it can solidify at cold temperatures become more liquid at warm temperatures. If the product has hardened,warm between hands to soften before use. If the product has become too liquid, place in a colder place such as a fridge for a few minutes.
